What is a canvas floating frame?
A canvas floating frame is designed to hold a stretched canvas while leaving a small visible space between the canvas and the surrounding frame. This creates the appearance that the artwork is floating within the frame.
What is the 5mm shadow gap?
The shadow gap is the approximately 5mm space visible between the edge of your canvas and the inside of the floating frame. It creates the distinctive contemporary floating effect.
Do I enter the canvas size or the finished frame size?
Enter the exact width and height of your stretched canvas. We calculate the necessary frame allowance and shadow gap when making your frame.
Which canvas depths can you frame?
Our standard floating frame has an internal depth of approximately 22mm. Options are also available for deeper canvases measuring approximately 30mm, 40mm and 45mm.

Yes. Every canvas floating frame is individually handcrafted to the measurements entered when you place your order.
