Canvas floating frame care is simple when your frame is handled, cleaned and displayed correctly. Every frame is individually made in our Bedford workshop using carefully selected materials and is designed to be enjoyed for many years.

Install Your Canvas Carefully
Your frame has been made specifically for the canvas measurements entered when ordering and is supplied with the required fitting components.
- Self-adhesive hook and loop fixing pads
- Fixing screws, where applicable
- Canvas hanging plate
Position the canvas carefully, check that the shadow gap is even on all four sides and only then secure it using the supplied screws.

Good canvas floating frame care requires very little maintenance. All finishes benefit from gentle handling, light cleaning and suitable room conditions.
Cleaning Your Frame
Dust regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
Avoid abrasive cloths, household sprays, solvents and furniture polish. If necessary, use a barely damp cloth and dry the surface immediately.
Natural Wood Frames
Small variations in colour and grain are part of the natural character of real timber.
Keep the frame away from radiators, stoves and prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve its appearance.
Foil & Painted Finishes
These finishes require very little maintenance and should normally be dusted only with a soft cloth.
Avoid contact with sharp objects that could mark or scratch the surface.
Secure, Level and Ready to Display
Before hanging your completed frame, make sure the hanging plate is securely attached and positioned centrally.
- Use wall fixings suitable for your wall type
- Check the fixings can support the combined weight
- Use a spirit level for a straight finish
- Allow clearance above furniture to prevent knocks

For the best long-term performance, display your frame in normal indoor conditions and avoid unsuitable environments. Stable room conditions will help protect both the frame finish and the stretched canvas inside it.
Avoid damp rooms or areas where moisture levels remain consistently high.
Do not position the frame where condensation regularly forms.
Keep the frame away from strong heat sources and sudden temperature changes.
Canvas floating frames are designed for indoor use only.
Take Extra Care During Transport
If you move home or relocate your artwork, support the frame properly and protect it before transport.
Never lift or carry a large frame by one corner, as this can place unnecessary pressure on the joints.
- Lift and carry the frame using both hands
- Support the frame evenly from both sides
- Wrap the frame before transporting it
- Protect the corners and finished surfaces
Product Care Questions
Helpful answers to some of the questions we are asked about altering, displaying and caring for floating frames.
Can I repaint or stain the frame?
We do not recommend altering the original finish. Repainting, staining or modifying the moulding may affect its appearance and could invalidate any applicable warranty.
Can I use the frame outdoors?
No. Our floating frames are designed for normal indoor use and should not be exposed to rain, damp or outdoor temperature changes.
What should I do if my canvas does not fit?
Do not force the canvas into the frame. Check the measurements and contact us before making any alterations so we can help identify the cause.
Will the frame warp over time?
When displayed in suitable indoor conditions and cared for correctly, your floating frame should provide many years of reliable service.
